8m well spent on Pearse House-Doolan

Sinn Féin's Dublin Environment Spokesperson & Representative for Dublin South East, Councillor Daithí Doolan, speaking at the opening of the Pearse House Improvement Scheme has said, "that the 8m spent on Pearse House was a great investment in our community."
Speaking today in Pearse House, Cllr. Doolan said:
"I am delighted to see this money being well spent on this the biggest flat complex in the inner city. It was long overdue and congratulations to all the residents who campaigned to see this development to a successful conclusion. Today's events clearly show that when City Council work in partnership with residents and public representatives that we can deliver a better quality of life for communities we represent. Today we see money well spent on children's playgrounds, a new football pitch and redeveloped courtyards. This will contribute greatly to a new pride and confidence in this community. Congratulations to all involved."
Cllr. Doolan explains, "it has taken a long journey to reach today's opening ceremony. A lot of headaches, tears and sweat, but looking around at the great improvements I can honestly say it was worth it. The local development committee, made up of residents and Council Officials, remained focused and got the job done.
I now look forward to all City Council flat complexes receiving the same attention and funds. We must now redouble our efforts in ensuring all communities benefit from government funding, we know the funding is there, it is just a matter of the Minister releasing it. "
In conclusion Cllr. Doolan, demanded, "Dick Roche, Minister for Environment, to release the necessary funding to ensure there would be no more delays in work commencing in other flat complexes in Dublin's inner city."
