Dublin South East Sinn Féin -- Building an Ireland of Equals

Ringsend rally for Dock Workers

Published: 27 July, 2009

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's action Sinn Féin said, "Tomorrow's rally is organised by the Dublin Port Workers Support Group. The rally will highlight the striker's demands and expose Marine Terminal Ltd for the thugs they are. The cause of this strike is the bullyboy, union bashing tactics employed by management at MTL in Ringsend. They have simply forced new employment contracts on its workforce without any negotiation and they have refused to engage with the Labour Relations Court.

"Tomorrow's action will take the form of a march through Ringsend over the East Link. We look forward to the residents of East Wall and the north inner city marching over the East Link to join with us in a unique show of solidarity with workers and their families."

The assembly point is Ray's Shop, Sean Moore Road, Ringsend, 10.30am, marching over the East Link Bridge.
