Another successful celebration marked the second annual International Women's Day celebrations in Ringsend. This year the events were bigger and better than in 2008. They included a very successful staging of the play Ruby Tuesday in the Ringsend Community Centre, which was attended by over 150 locals. The next two days were filled with events in the Irishtown Stadium, Ringsend Community Centre & The Spellman Centre. Events included health assessments, holistic healing sessions and fitness activities. Sinn Fein's Daithí Doolan, who has been involved in the organisation of both years' activities, said that the key to the success has been groups working together. Funding was made available from the Lansdowne Stadium Community Fund and from Dublin Port. We now look forward to having an even better celebration in 2010.
