Council to demand Israeli Ambassador answer for criminal military action in Gaza

Sinn Féin's Dublin City Councillor Daithi Doolan has announced that the Sinn Féin Group on Dublin City Council are set to table an Emergency Motion demanding that, "the Israeli Ambassador to Ireland be made account for his state's criminal actions in Gaza."
Speaking ahead of tomorrow's Dublin City Council meeting, Cllr. Doolan said:
"Sinn Féin is tabling the Emergency Motion at tomorrow's nights meeting to condemn the recent air attacks and last night's invasion of Gaza. It is an act of solidarity with the beleaguered citizens of Gaza.
"Sinn Féin are demanding that the Israeli Ambassador to Ireland be held to account for Israeli unjustified and criminal armed action in Gaza. We will be asking the Lord Mayor, as the City's First Citizen, to invite the Ambassador to meet with the group leaders and explain why his government has carried out the recent military attacks that has left over 400 people dead in Gaza. The Ambassador represents Israel in Ireland and must be held to account for its actions."
Cllr. Doolan concluded by calling, "on all political parties, despite our differences, to support tomorrow's motion and to show we are united in opposition to Israeli aggression in Gaza."
Emergency Motion
"That Dublin City Council condemns in the strongest possible terms the recent Israeli attacks and invasion of Gaza and we urge the Lord Mayor to invite the Israeli Ambassador to meet with Leaders of all political parties as a matter of urgency to discuss the situation."
